The venue for lectures and poster sessions is the storied Asilomar Conference Center
(800 Asilomar Blvd, Pacific Grove, California ).
Asilomar is approximately 120 miles from San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
and 65 miles from San Jose International Airport (SJC). Note the driving traffic
from either airport to Asilomar Conference Center can be extreme on Friday afternoons.
From SFO and SJC airports, you must either rent a car or take a shuttle service to
Asilomar such as: (https://groometransportation.com/monterey/).
Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is located 9.3 miles from Asilomar. There is limited
taxi service at the Monterey Airport. However, rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft
provide convenient transportation to Asilomar Conference Center.
Parking is free on the campus as long as you are parked in a legal space
(avoid the red curbs, this means 'no parking'.)
The end of June can be chilly in Monterey. You will want to dress in layers
(think vests, fleece jackets, etc.) because coastal fog will make it feel colder
than the actual temperature. The facility is a campus so you will be walking
OUTDOORS and you will want to dress appropriately to stay warm.
It will feel COLD at some point, bring warm clothes!
