1971 R75/5
The bike in the
top two photos is the same, a 1971 R75/5, shown with two different
fuel tanks. The top is the 6 gallon full size tank, and the middle
one is a 4 gallon 1972 chrome "toaster tank". The bottom
photo is of my new R90/6 for comparison. I bought the R75/5 from
the local dealer. It had a 1976 R75/6 engine in a otherwise completely
stock 1971 chassis. I added the Krauser luggage. This was my introduction
to this era of BMW motorcycles. What a great bike. It broke my heart
to sell it as it ran so well and required little or no maintanence.
I preferred it with the 6 gallon tank and eventually sold the toaster
tank.
